Our story

Thirty-two million Indians live outside India. Almost none of them can find care that feels like home.

Care For Indians started with a familiar phone call: a daughter in New Jersey trying to arrange help for her father, and every agency she called offering a stranger who could not pronounce his name, let alone cook his food.

An Indian family together

The problem nobody was solving

Generic care marketplaces match on postcode and price. They do not ask which language is spoken at home, whether the household is vegetarian or Jain, whether a grandmother will accept help from a man, or whether a child will eat what is cooked.

For diaspora families those are the first questions, not the last. Getting them wrong is the difference between a caregiver who lasts two days and one who becomes part of the family for years.

So we built the marketplace around them. Language, regional cooking, dietary practice, festivals and the specific shape of Indian family life are filters and fields here — not free-text notes nobody reads.

What we are, precisely

We are an introduction platform. We verify the people who list with us, give families the information to judge for themselves, and provide the chat and interview tools to have a real conversation.

We are not an agency, not an employer and not a healthcare provider. Caregivers here are independent professionals. When a family and a caregiver agree to work together, that arrangement is theirs — including the money, which never passes through us.

That is deliberate. It keeps caregivers' earnings intact, keeps families' costs honest, and keeps our only incentive the one that matters: making genuinely good matches.

What we believe

Four things we will not compromise on

Culture is not a nice-to-have

A caregiver who knows why the diya is lit, who can make khichdi when a child is unwell, who understands why your mother will not admit she is tired — that is not a preference, it is the whole job.

Show the work, not a logo

We do not print a generic 'trusted' stamp. Each verification badge names exactly what was checked, and a profile without one says so plainly.

Built for distance

Many of our families are caring for parents in one country while living in another. Time zones, video interviews and clear written updates are designed in, not bolted on.

No commission, ever

We do not take a cut of a caregiver's rate. Their income stays theirs, and families are not paying an invisible agency markup.

The team

A small team, all of us from diaspora families

Care For Indians is built by a handful of engineers, designers and care-sector operators spread across India, the US and the UK. Every one of us has either arranged care for a parent from another country or grown up with a didi who felt like family.

We are in soft launch, city by city, talking to every family and caregiver who signs up. If something about the platform does not work for your family, we want to hear it directly.
